Just wanted to share another picture and some updates of what is going on here at our house! Abby has hit 7 weeks old and is growing like a weed. She is a ton of fun. Takes naps during the day, likes to stay up until 11 or so, then sleeps until 5 or 6. Not a regular routine, but has happened a few times, so we are trying to make it a routine. Just like Gage & Sydney, she is pretty good about going to "bed". We put her in there awake and she sooths herself to sleep after maybe 20 minutes. She will lay in there and move around, make noises and just fall asleep. It is great. I do make sure we have rocking time in there though, but we feel it is really important that they learn to fall asleep on their own.
Gage is still in swimming, just starting to wrap up until summer. He is getting better and better all the time. We had a meet this last weekend and have one coming up. He swam 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke. The little swimmer did great and was 1/2 a second away from first place in that 50 backstroke. And he says he doesn't like backstroke! School is going good, he is learning time and how to determine the answer to a problem solving question when time is involved. His spelling words are getting harder and harder, but he is hanging in there. Tonight, he read Abby a book, it was so cute! I used this as the way to get him to read and it worked...I hope it continues!
Sydney is such a great helper with Abby. She loves getting the diapers, picking out Abby's PJ's, giving her the binky in the car, helping me put on Abby's bib and even taking her turns at feeding. We are still doing gymnastics and she likes it. Funny though, she has a fear of the high beam. Every week, she is so hesitant and won't walk on it without holding her teacher's hand. Each week, she is getting closer and closer to being more comfortable though. School is fun for her, she has lots of friends and loves doing her homework. Amazing how different boys and girls are. Sydney ASKS to study spelling words and to do her homework. She had her first spelling test last week and got 100%! Her teacher sent home some bonus words this week to help challenge her a little more.
As far as Rich and I go, we are staying busy. If you don't know, we have decided to move, so the house is going on the market soon. We are just finishing up some of those last items to get it in tip top shape for a buyer. So, if you know someone looking for an AWESOME starter home, send them our way. We are hoping to stay relatively close to this area and within the same school district, maybe even the same school. It is just time to upgrade into something with some more room. We have been here for almost 9 years and it will be hard to go. Let's see what happens, hopefully, someone wants to buy it.
Abby goes for her 2 month checkup on the 10th, so I will post her growth. I, then, go back to work on the 15th. It will be nice to get back to routine, taking daily showers and getting out of my sweats!!! I have become VERY relaxed on this leave.
Take care all and happy almost February!!
