1 Week Old

Here we are, 1 week old! This first week has been great. Abby likes to sleep, eat and fill her diapers, just like most 1 week olds! She likes being awake in the AM from about 9 to 11 and then sleep until evening where she likes to be awake from about 6 to 7. Gage and Sydney enjoy having Abby around, actually, they like to argue about who gets to hold her first and for the longest. They both have started helping feed her a bottle and like to get the diaper changer out to prepare for changing those dirty diapers.

Nights have been pretty good, except one. Saturday night was a hard one with crying and tummy aches. We believe she may have some of the same reflux issues that Gage and Sydney both had. On Monday, we go back for a 2-week checkup and we will discuss next steps with the doctor. Either trying new formula or getting her on some Zantac to help with the reflux.

I have been feeling pretty good. Recovering from a c-section is not as difficult as it seems. I have been keeping up on the pain pills and starting to slow down on how many I am needing. Over the weekend, we had our first outings. Saturday, we visited the doctor and then Grandma and Grandpa Sayles. Sunday, Sydney had her church program and we went to watch, then took a visit to the mall so Gage and Sydney could sit on Santa's lap. She was great and had a lot of fun.
