Follow the Leader...

Hi everyone! Guess I never knew this was so simple. I have received about 7 different blog spots in the last few weeks, 4 of which are within my family!! So, here I am, writing my first blog and trying to understand how it all works. This should be fun. PS..I am the one who takes all the pictures, so I am not in any! I promise to get some of me....if you care....

So, "The Four Sayles", yeah not so creative, but I have been losing that creative side as my age seems to creep up there. For those of you who don't know, the Four Sayles would be myself, Rich (my dear sweet husband), Gage (our 6-year old math whiz) and Sydney (the 4-year old chocolate lover). Also, in our family, there are 3 pets....yes 3! Titan the almost 8-year old Golden Retriever, Rocket the 1-year old Malti-Poo, and the newest addition, Doris the guinea pig. The main reason for this blog is two share the growing up of our family! Check back often for soccer pictures, school activities, dance videos, everyday adventures, etc.

Gage is in Kindergarten this year and loving every minute of it. He is actually writing in a journal and spelling words, wow, never thought it could happen so fast. The conferences have been great and numbers are his new favorite friend. If you want him to count to 100 for you, straight through, by 5's, or by 10's, just ask him! Even if you believe him and need some quiet time, he will still show you how he can....quite proud!!

Sydney is in Pre-K at a school right near us and Gage's school. Her teacher says she is a delight to have in class and she is always willing to tell a story, answer questions or just talk completely out of turn....wonder where she gets the chatty gene?! She, also, is soaking in every ounce of the knowledge she can. They have a lesson each week on healthy eating/exercise. Our family eats our share of fruits and vegetables, but Sydney is all over us for any sugar that we consume. Although, when I told her that the chocolate she loves has sugar, she informed me that "it is OK to eat sugar in small portions, Mom, so these chocolate chips are fine because they are small." I didn't have the heart to tell her when she sneaks the whole bag, sugar count is a bit higher than just one chip.

I loved when they were babies, but I have to say that this is one of my favorite parenting times, school programs, homework, book fairs, early bedtimes...
